Catherine Zeta-Jones was born September 25, 1969 in Swansea, Wales, UK. This welsh-born actress demonstrated her versatility in a wide range of films, most notably the musical Chicago (2002), for which she won the Academy Award for best supporting actress.
Her first major role was in the early 90’s as Mariette Larkin in the popular British television comedy-drama series The Darling Buds of May.
Her beauty and popularity made her a frequent target of the media and after crashing into a lamppost after trying to avoid them, she made a move to Los Angeles.
She gained the leading role in The Mask of Zorro (1998), and in 2000 she married actor Michael Douglas.
