Tears of the Sun stars Bruce Willis and Monica Bellucci. While it may not be considered in the same vein of Saving Private Ryan or Platoon, it is a much deeper film than meets the eye.
Some of the scenes in Tears of the Sun were so violent and graphic that they had to be cut out. Not necessarily because it was causing the film to have a different rating but because the test audiences were so devastated by some of the scenes that the filmmakers decided against including them.
