This IQ test is only 3 questions and 80% of people fail it. This test was first published by professor Shane Frederick in 2005 and when he tested it on 3,000 participants he discovered that only 17 percent managed to score 3/3.
So, how smart to you think you are? Here are the questions and remember that your first answer is probably not the correct one:

A bat and a ball cost $1.10 in total. The bat costs $1 more than the ball. How much does the ball cost?
Question 2.
If it takes five machines five minutes to make five widgets, how long would it take 100 machines to make 100 widgets?
Question 3.
In a lake, there is a patch of lily pads. Every day, the patch doubles in size. If it takes 48 days for the patch to cover the entire lake, how long would it take for the patch to cover half of the lake?

Ok. Here are the answers to the world’s shortest IQ test:
Question 1 – The answer is 5c.
The bat is worth $1 more than the ball. Therefore the ball is worth 5c which make the bat worth $1.05. Total is $1.10.
Question 2 – The answer is 5 minutes.
If it takes one machine 5 minutes to make a widget, then it would take 5 minutes for 100 machines to make 100 widgets.
Question 3 – The answer is 47 days.
If the lake doubles every day, then it makes sense that on the 47th day it was half full. Then it doubled and was full on the 48th day.
